FAQ's on getting your new pool.

How are pools priced?

Pool pricing is typically based on a price for a standard sized pool, in our case, a 75 foot perimeter and 350 square foot of water surface area. The price increases for each additional linear foot of perimeter and each square foot of area; however, an increase in size does not add as much to the price as people think.

What is the best way to begin planning for a pool?

Our design staff can meet with you at no cost. If you live in the home where the pool will be built, we will measure the yard, consider how construction equipment can enter the yard, discuss potential equipment location in relation to existing utilities and the pool, and begin to discuss the desires of the homeowner so that a pool plan can be developed to match lifestyle needs, the desired look, and the budget. If you are building a new home, the pool planning can be designed off of plot plans and a site inspection. Many times money can be saved and a more integrated final product can be achieved through early planning of this type.

How do I decide what shape and features I would like?

Our design staff will have hundreds of pictures, DVD, CD's, and color plans of many of our past projects for your review. We feel that one of the reasons we have won more design awards than any pool company in the nation at the National Pool and Spa Institute's pool competition is our ability to listen and hone in on the plan and features which will best serve the client. In addition we will develop a full color art rendering of the pool you and our designer will create. This drawing will also include a bird's eye view perspective drawing of what the pool will look like from your patio.

What pumps, filters, cleaners, water features, automatic systems, deck products, interior surfaces, masonry effects, and lighting are best?

We feel that our job is to thoroughly explain all the pool features which may interest you. This explanation will include the positive and the negative traits of each product, including costs, how it works, and a recommendation depending upon the needs and desires you have expressed. We feel that our clients make really great decisions for themselves when proper information is delivered.

Isn't every pool the same in its basic construction?

Yes--in the same way that every car is the same. But like every car manufacturer, every pool company utilizes various methods and materials. California Pools enjoys it's reputation as a premier builder due to the way we dig a pool, our plumbing and steel work, the thickness and density of our concrete, even our deck specifications are very unique and are generally the highest standards and toughest specifications in the industry. This has resulted in our unmatched record of growth, industry leadership and a perfectly clean record with regard to regulatory complaints. Very few pool companies in Arizona can make this claim. There are differences between pool builders and our designer can explain these in more detail. We always recommend that you check a contractor's license through the Registrar of Contractors at www.azroc.gov

How do I pick a pool builder?

Why California Pools? It is very important that you develop a good feeling and belief in your designer and in your pool company. You can judge how credible, how interested in your needs, how experienced, how considerate a company is in most cases by the feeling you get from the office staff, the designers, and from existing customers. Sincerity, competence, and concern cannot be faked! California Pools will attempt to make every experience a positive one. In addition, every pool we build will be built with one absolute commitment---we want you more than satisfied, we want you thrilled with our product and service. Our owner, Jeremy Smith, is personally available to you and takes ultimate responsibility for your satisfaction, he has taught each employee his philosophy of everyone involved being 100% responsible for customer satisfaction. He likes to say, "character is not built in the tough times, when things go wrong, it is only revealed in those times." His message is that while fine words and promises are easy to deliver, very few put the effort out to insure that the promises come true and fewer still will do the right thing if mistakes are made. The right thing is in his mind is to do whatever it takes to make the customer happy.
